Great question!
It's simple actually. Every second, every minute, of every day there are “projects” going on in our bodies. Vital functions that require “workers” or in the body’s case cells to show up.
These cells are providing important things to these functions like oxygen, nutrients, etc. However, for a lot of people, you included, the necessary number of cells aren’t showing up. Just like for my project.
I needed 10 people and only 4 showed up. This same scenario is occurring in your body at this very moment!
We didn’t get the project done in the time we should have. For me the worst-case scenario was that I wouldn’t become an Eagle Scout. However, when our bodies expect a certain number of “workers” to show up but only a fraction of that number does, the outcomes are much worse.
This lack of cells showing up for “work” starts by manifesting as simple fatigue. Most of us don’t even notice it. Primarily because we cover it up with our morning cup (or 3) of coffee.
We have an energy drink, or more coffee in the afternoon. If you want to see just how prevalent fatigue is in our day and age just walk into a convenience store and look at how many shelves in the refrigerator section are stocked with energy drinks.
When the coffee, sodas, and energy drinks don’t cut it, we simply write the fatigue and lack of energy off as being busy. Too much work, too much running the kids around, too much this or that.
